Care options
Which kind of care is right?
What each option is, and who it suits.
Assisted Living
For someone who needs help with bathing, dressing, medications or meals but still wants their own apartment and routine. We look for communities that can handle today’s needs and the ones likely to come next.

Residential Care Homes
Arizona has many small licensed assisted living homes in ordinary neighborhoods, each caring for ten or fewer residents. Caregivers get to know every person well. Most families have never heard of them, and for the right person they can be the best option of all.

Independent Living
For someone who is still independent but tired of keeping up a house, eating alone or driving everywhere. Independent living offers an apartment, meals, activities and neighbors, without paying for care that isn’t needed yet.

Hospital and Rehab Discharge
The hospital says your loved one can leave Thursday, and they can’t go home alone. We move quickly: we find places with openings that can meet their needs, work with the discharge planner, and help you decide in days rather than weeks.

When care needs are more complicated
Not every community can manage every need, and the brochure won’t always tell you. Before you tour, we ask whether a place can handle needs like these:
- Help getting in and out of bed or a chair, including two-person transfers
- Oxygen, insulin, or other medications that need close management
- Waking at night, or needing help overnight
- Wandering, agitation or other changes that come with dementia
- Hospice care, now or in the future
- A special diet, or help with eating
The cost question
Ask about money early
Prices vary widely across the Valley, and the advertised monthly rate is rarely the whole story. Care level fees, medication management and one-time community fees can change the total a great deal.
We get current pricing for each place on your list and help you see which programs might help, including ALTCS and VA benefits. Those agencies decide eligibility, not us, but we can tell you where to start.
